This Privacy Policy explains how DanceRecap ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our service.
#1. Information We Collect
- ●Account info: Email, password, display name, and profile data
- ●Media uploads: Photos, videos, and selfies you choose to upload for face recognition
- ●Facial data: Facial feature data processed for photo and video matching
- ●Cloud storage: OAuth tokens for Google Drive integration (encrypted and stored securely)
- ●Session data (legacy): Workshop registration and video records from the retired sessions feature, retained but no longer actively used
- ●Learning feedback: Your confirm/reject decisions on photo matches to improve accuracy
- ●Payment data: Processed securely by Stripe (we do not store card numbers)
- ●Usage data: Log data, device type, and app activity for analytics and troubleshooting
#2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- ●Provide photo and video tagging and sharing features
- ●Improve face matching accuracy through your feedback
- ●Process payments and deliver purchased media
- ●Maintain platform security and performance
- ●Comply with legal obligations
#3. Facial Recognition & Video Processing
- ●Facial recognition is used for matching and tagging within events for both photos and videos.
- ●We do not share biometric data with advertisers or third parties.
- ●Facial feature data is derived from your photos/videos and deleted once no longer needed for matching.
- ●Video processing includes face detection, thumbnail generation, and derivative creation.
- ●Your feedback on photo matches helps improve accuracy.
#4. Storage & Retention
- ●Event photos and videos are stored for a reasonable period consistent with industry standards. We reserve the right to delete content after this period has elapsed.
- ●Selfies remain until you delete them or close your account.
- ●Google Drive OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and refreshed automatically.
- ●Legacy session registration and video records are retained from the retired sessions feature; the feature is no longer available.
- ●Feedback data is retained to improve matching accuracy.
- ●Account info is retained while your account is active, then deleted upon closure (except minimal system logs retained for security or auditing purposes, consistent with standard retention practices).
#5. Legal Bases (GDPR)
If you're in the EU/UK, we process your data under these lawful bases:
- ●Contract: To provide DanceRecap's photo/video tagging and sharing services
- ●Consent: For uploading selfies, using facial recognition, and Google Drive integration
- ●Legal obligation: To comply with applicable laws and payment processing requirements
- ●Legitimate interest: To maintain security, prevent fraud, and improve matching accuracy
#7. Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to:
